Isaiah 43:19 says: ‘See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.’
Last year, 2021, like the year before, was a difficult one for most and harrowing for many, due to the continuing impact of the pandemic. But the message of the bible remains a message of hope as exemplified by this passage in Isaiah 43:19. Jesus assures us that He has overcome the world despite the multitude of challenges (John 16:33). All we need to do is partner with him in our life’s journey and he will surely order our steps, bring us to a safe landing and place of victory.
Maximising our partnership with Christ demands that we become fearless (not reckless) and bold in 2022. I once read a quote that said ‘Your comfort zone is a prison that can limit you. Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone’. Also, Dr Robert Schuller once said: ‘The only place where your dreams become impossible is in your thinking.’
Life is never going to be perfect, so don’t wait for the perfect opportunity to pursue your dreams this year. Rather, grab the opportunity in front of you now and with God’s help, make it perfect. ‘Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.’ Ecclesiastes 11:4
Your entire life can change in one year if you are wise enough to draw on your divine connection, trust that God wants to do a new thing in your life, love yourself enough to know you deserve more, be brave enough to demand more, and disciplined enough to work for more. It’s not going to fall on your lap! You’ve got to participate in your own success!!
When we are in partnership with God, our potential is unlimited. When you know who you are in Christ, nothing can stop you. Not your education, not your ethnic or family background, nor your past failures, because being ‘in Christ’ is a great leveller. All you need are two words: ‘Only believe!’, because all things are possible to whom who believes (Mark 9:23).
So, go in the strength God gives you in 2022 and do mighty exploits. You are more than a conqueror! (Romans 8:37)
