Work Your Dream

The earth in which we live in today was God’s dream and blessing for mankind. This dream was in God’s heart, but it did not stop at the stage of dreaming.  God worked out His dream.  We are told in Genesis 1:1-2 that: ‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now, the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters.’  The earth came into manifestation when God declared the words several times: ‘Let there be…..’

Everything great that we see today and are blessed by, began as a dream in somebody’s heart.  This includes technological inventions, medical discoveries, educational innovations, manufacturing, etc. Great ideas were turned into reality through concerted effort and action on the part of individuals.  Walt Disney once said: ‘All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.’

No dream becomes reality without commensurate effort, resources and time put into it and any dream, vision or calling you do not dedicate your life and time to will eventually die.  Whether it is a personal dream or a God-given calling, it is essential that you discipline yourself to work it out, because your happiness and fulfilment are likely to be tied to it.  It was Colin Powell who said: ‘A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work’.

One of the outstanding qualities of Joseph in the bible was that he strongly believed the dream he saw. And despite all odds, he remained positive and focussed on his dream.  Genesis 42:29 reveals: ‘And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed…’

So, be bold and intentional and start working hard on your dream today.  As you step out in faith, God will step in and help make your dream a reality.
