Isaiah 40: 29-31 says:
‘He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’
The eagle, it is said lives longer and flies higher than any other bird. No storm can subdue the eagle and no predator is able to conquer them. Their secret lies in their two wings. Both wings are necessary if they are to maintain their dominance against the forces that would seek to overwhelm them.
If you want to rise above the challenges that seek to ground and overwhelm you, like the eagle, you need two vital wings. The first is the wing of prayer and praise. These two go together. As you pray and praise Him, God’s presence will literally flood your heart and envelop your life. You will experience peace and confidence in the midst of your circumstances.
The second is the wing of the word of God. As the word becomes bigger and stronger in your heart, your attitude and your conversations, you will see all fear, doubt and weaknesses wither up and die like dead leaves on a tree. God’s word is powerful, alive and never fails.
Are you feeling tired and weary today? Be like the eagle and rise up high on these two God-given wings!
