As we step into a new year, many of us desire clarity, direction, and purpose. The Bible offers timeless principles that can guide us in setting a vision aligned with God’s will.
Seek God First: Before making plans, prioritise God’s presence and guidance. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33: 'But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.' A clear vision begins with aligning our goals to God’s kingdom purposes.
Write the Vision: Clarity often comes when we articulate what God has placed in our hearts. Habakkuk 2:2 says: 'Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.' Documenting your vision helps you stay focused and committed throughout the year.
Trust God’s Plans: Our plans may change, but God’s purpose stands firm. Proverbs 16:3 encourages: 'Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.' Surrendering your goals to God ensures they are rooted in His wisdom.
Walk by Faith, Not by Sight: Vision requires faith, especially when the path ahead seems uncertain. 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us: 'For we live by faith, not by sight.' Trust that God will provide the steps as you move forward.
Renew Your Mind: A new year is an opportunity for transformation. Romans 12:2 says: 'Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will.'
Prayer and Vision:
Finally, prayer is the foundation for a God-centered vision. Philippians 4:6 urges: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.' If you desire true success in 2026, begin the year by seeking God in prayer for clarity and strength to pursue His plans for your life.
