When I Realised I Was Not Alone

Recently, I found myself facing a difficult challenge. Like many of us, I approached it by relying on my own abilities, determination, and hard work. The more responsibility I placed on my shoulders, the heavier the burden seemed to become. Along with it came stress, anxiety, and uncertainty.
Then a simple but life-changing truth struck me: I am not facing this challenge alone. God is with me.
The challenge itself has not disappeared, but my perspective has changed. Instead of seeing it as something I must overcome in my own strength, I now recognise that I am working in partnership with God. That realisation has brought peace where there was worry and hope where there was fear. Scripture reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
How often do we try to carry burdens that God never intended us to bear alone? We work harder, worry more, and strive longer, forgetting that the Lord is inviting us to trust Him. Jesus said:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
What a wonderful invitation. Jesus does not tell us to carry our struggles alone. Instead, He invites us to bring them to Him and find rest in His presence.
I have come to realise that when I see God as my partner rather than merely my helper, everything changes. My stress decreases because the burden is no longer mine alone to carry. My confidence grows because I know that God's resources, wisdom and power far exceed my own.
Whatever challenge we are facing today, God's promise remains the same: He is with us. He walks beside us, strengthens us, and works through us. We may not know how the situation will unfold, but we can trust the One who does.
When we recognise that we are in partnership with God, we stop focusing on our limitations and begin to trust in His limitless possibilities. The challenge may remain, but we no longer face it alone. And that makes all the difference.
